Bili Route (“the extension”) is a browser extension for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge developed by RUI. This policy explains how the extension handles data.
We collect no data
The extension does not collect, upload or sell any personal data, and it contains no analytics or telemetry of any kind. The developer operates no server that receives data from the extension.
Data stored in your browser
The following data is kept only in the extension’s local storage in your browser and never leaves your device:
- Settings: route mode, pinned or disabled routes, appearance options.
- Discovered mirrors: up to 16 Bilibili CDN host names seen in Bilibili’s playback responses.
- Speed test summaries: host name, time to first byte, throughput or failure reason, and measurement time. Kept for 7 days and can be cleared at any time on the settings page.
- Playback events (stalls, the player switching to a backup route): kept only in browser session memory and cleared when the browser closes.
None of this data includes video URLs, video IDs, watch history, cookies or account information.
Sites the extension accesses
- The extension runs only on Bilibili (www.bilibili.com) video, anime, course, playlist and event player pages, where it reads the page’s playback response to choose a route. It does not run on any other site.
- For speed tests, the extension sends small requests from the page directly to Bilibili’s own media CDN (
upos-*.bilivideo.comand the Akamai mirrors Bilibili uses), the same kind of request the player makes during normal playback. As with watching a video, those servers see your IP address.
Diagnostic export
Only when you click “导出诊断” (Export diagnostics) on the settings page does the extension create a JSON file on your device containing the extension version, browser User-Agent, settings, speed test summaries and playback events, without video URLs or account information. Whether to share it is up to you.
Amazon affiliate link
The settings page offers an optional link to support development by shopping on Amazon. It opens Amazon.co.jp with the project’s affiliate tag only when you click it. As an Amazon Associate, the project may earn from qualifying purchases at no additional cost to you. The extension does not run on Amazon sites and does not read your Amazon browsing or purchase information. Amazon processes your data on its site under Amazon’s own privacy notice.
